Clip Stats by insy: privacy policy

Last updated 22 September 2026. This policy covers the Clip Stats browser extension, published by insy, and nothing else.

What the extension reads

When you open a page on www.tiktok.com or www.youtube.com, the extension reads the clip data that page has already loaded for you: view, like, comment, share and save counts, the upload date, the author handle and the caption. It uses them to show those numbers in a small card on the page.

It does not run on any other website. It does not read your messages, browsing history, cookies, passwords or account details, and it makes no network requests of its own.

What the extension stores

Stored only in your browser, using Chrome's extension storage:

  • your settings: rate per 1,000 views, currency, and whether the card is minimized (Chrome may sync these between your own signed-in browsers);
  • clips you choose to pin: platform, clip ID, author handle, the first 140 characters of the caption, and view counts with the time you saw them.

You can remove a pinned clip from the extension's popup at any time. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.

What the extension sends

Nothing. insy receives no data from the extension. There is no analytics, no tracking and no third-party code. Links to insy.io in the extension carry UTM parameters (utm_source=chrome-extension) so insy can see that a visit came from the extension. That happens only when you click such a link, as with any other link on the web.

Selling or sharing data

We do not sell, transfer or share user data, and we do not use it for anything other than the extension's single purpose: showing statistics for the clips you view and tracking the growth of clips you pin.
